Homebirth Midwifery- $5,000
This fee includes all midwifery care including (but not limited to):
- Regular prenatal visits in your home (monthly until 28 weeks; bi-weekly until 36 weeks; weekly until birth).
- Access to standard lab tests, supplies (including birth pool), and medications.
- On-call availability after 37-weeks.
- Birth attendance/support.
- Postpartum and newborn care up to 6 weeks (including lactation support).
Payment plans available and the balance due by 36 weeks of gestation. A $500 deposit is required to secure your spot (due at initial visit). Families are also encouraged to purchase a homebirth supply kit for around $60 (link supplied during care).
INSURANCE: Mainstay Midwifery LLC is a registered WI Medicaid Provider. $500-$1,000 out-of-pocket deposit due by initial visit (sliding scale), remainder of care is covered by Badgercare. We also accept Health Savings Accounts and Flexible Spending Accounts. Unfortunately, Madison Area HMO, Dean Care, Quartz, and Group Health Cooperative do not currently cover out-of-hospital midwives or home births.
Please note that there is no reduction in fee for late entry into care, reduced or declined services, or a fast birth. For more information or to discuss payment options, please contact us directly.

At-Home Prenatal Visits
Receive evidence-based midwifery care that empowers you to make autonomous decisions for your family through informed consent. Each visit including topics, education, and resources tailored for your specific gestation. These visits also allow your midwife to continuously assess eligibility for community-based care.
Labor + Birth
As an expert in physiological birth, your Midwife has a deep, integrated understanding of how the body functions when birth unfolds without unnecessary interference—and how to support that process while maintaining safety. Mainstay Midwifery LLC operates within a scope of practice designed to support physiologic processes of healthy, low risk pregnancy and birth which includes:
- Recognize variations of "normal" in physiological birth and refer to appropriate level of care if necessary.
- Assess maternal and fetal status throughout labor/birth (risk assessment).
- Utilizing evidence-based practices to guide-not override-the physiological process.
*A birth doula is recommended for first time birthers*
At-Home Postpartum Visits
Receive six weeks of in-home postpartum care focused on your comprehensive healing from labor and birth, bonding with your baby, and establishing breastfeeding. There are several aspects of the postpartum period that are emphasized/addressed such as:
- Rest, nourishment, and slowing down
- Emotional processing
- Hormonal shifts
- Bonding and attachment
- Family-centered care (dynamic shift)

YOUR Little One
At Mainstay Midwifery LLC, we want your baby to enjoy their experience too. This is accomplished by simply keeping your baby with YOU! We offer standard newborn procedures with full informed consent and encourage that baby stay in you or your partner's arms/next to you at all times. Standard newborn procedures offered include:
- Erythromycin eye ointment
- Vitamin k
- Newborn metabolic screening
- Critical congenital heart disease screening using a pulse oximeter
- Hearing screen
